Install the PWA
Putting WorkCore on a phone home screen, and what the installed app does not do.
WorkCore runs in a phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it is one tap away — on an iPhone, full-screen with no address bar in the way. It is the same app either way: adding it changes how it launches, not what it can do.
At a glance
| Where | Your WorkCore address, opened in the phone's browser |
| Who | Anyone with a WorkCore account. A superintendent lands on /super/assignments |
| What you can do | Add WorkCore to the home screen and open it from there in one tap |
| What you cannot do yet | Use it without a connection, or get push notifications when it is closed |
Before you start
Sign in once in the browser first, at /login. Install the site you are already signed in to — if
the installed app opens on Sign in, sign in there the same way, with a magic link to your work
email.
Add WorkCore to your home screen
On an iPhone or iPad, in Safari:
- Open WorkCore and wait for the queue to load.
- Tap the share button in the toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- The name Safari suggests reads WorkCore AI — shorten it to WorkCore if you want a tidier label. Tap Add.
On Android, in Chrome:
- Open WorkCore and wait for the queue to load.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen. Some Chrome versions offer Install app instead — either is fine.
- Edit the suggested name if you want to, then confirm.
Those menus belong to the browser, so the exact wording moves around between versions. Look for "install" or "home screen".
What the installed app does
The icon takes you where your role starts — for a superintendent, the queue at /super/assignments —
and everything behaves exactly as it does in the browser: the same session, the same queue, the same
assistant.
On an iPhone or iPad the icon opens WorkCore full-screen, with no address bar or tabs. On Android a home-screen shortcut may open in the browser with its chrome still around it, depending on your Chrome version; the app works the same either way, you just keep the address bar.

There is no offline mode. Nothing is cached for use without a connection, so a dead spot in a basement means a blank page, and a message you try to send in the assistant fails on the spot with Not sent — you're offline. The message stays in the thread, greyed out, under a Retry now button. The text under that banner says your message "is saved and will send when you're back online" — it will not. Nothing is sent for you when the signal comes back: press Retry now yourself.

There are no push notifications. The bell in the top bar checks for new activity every 30 seconds while WorkCore is open, and nothing reaches you once the app is closed. Reopen it to see what has changed.
